Ukraine and Sweden Deepen Cooperation on Chemical Safety
According to Мін. Економіки: Ukraine and Sweden have agreed on the next steps for their collaboration in chemical safety and have launched a search for experts to help implement European Union regulations. The meeting was held online between Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, Oleksandr Krasnolutsky, and Oksana Mylyanyk, an expert from the Recovery and Reform Support Team (RST), and a delegation from the Swedish Chemicals Agency (KEMI) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). This partnership is part of broader European support for Ukraine's regulatory alignment.
Focus on Adopting EU REACH and CLP Regulations
The participants reviewed the current state of cooperation and outlined future actions for adopting EU chemical safety standards. A central focus was the implementation of the EU's REACH and CLP regulations. As a result, a decision was made to recruit national experts to support the ministry in this complex process. The selection of specialists, including a chemical safety expert and a legal expert, is now underway.
