Ukrainian Officials Weigh In on European Integration

According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha commented on the decision to launch the first negotiation cluster for the country's accession to the European Union. He expressed gratitude to the Cyprus Presidency for steering the process forward, as well as to EU member states, the European Commission, and EU institutions. Sybiha highlighted Budapest's pivotal role in the decision, noting that it unlocks fresh opportunities for bilateral ties between Ukraine and Hungary.

Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar announced that a comprehensive agreement had been reached between Hungary and Ukraine, specifically addressing the rights of the Hungarian minority in Transcarpathia. He made clear that Budapest's support for opening this cluster would only be possible once these commitments are enshrined in Ukrainian law.
