According to glavcom.ua: The portal 'Weapons' has published photos of the new Ukrainian missile 'Long Neptune', which is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to one thousand kilometers. This is an improved version of the missile 'Neptune', reports the publication 'Glavkom' based on Defense Express data.

Information about the creation of this missile emerged in the summer of 2023, but until now no images had been released. The first photo appeared on the day of the Independence Day celebrations, where it was showcased alongside other Ukrainian military equipment.

Features of 'Long Neptune'

According to Defense Express, 'Long Neptune' differs from the previous version of the cruise missile with X-shaped wings and a larger body. This new missile is over 6 meters long (excluding the booster) and has an expanded central part of the body with a diameter of up to 50 centimeters, indicating an increase in its mass, and likely the need for a larger fuel volume.

Successful testing and use of the 'Long Neptune' missile occurred in combat against an oil refinery in Tuapse, Russia, at a distance of about 480 kilometers from the Ukrainian front. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney examined this new sample of Ukrainian weapons and military equipment. It is important to note that Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine uses only its own armed developments for attacks on the Russian Federation, without consulting the USA.
