Ukraine has increased its maximum electricity export capacity to the EU

Increase of electricity exports to the EU
Україна суттєво розширила можливості експорту електроенергії до Європи.

The Ukrainian government has increased its maximum electricity export capacity to Europe from 650 to 900 MW. According to Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko, this move will allow balancing the country's energy system without generation restrictions. He also hopes that these changes will positively impact the quality of electricity supply.

Since July 1, Ukraine has switched to a new standard voltage of 230/400 V, which will contribute to improving the quality of electricity supply and allow power plants to earn additional revenue from foreign trade. These changes will also assist in preparing for the autumn-winter period and eliminating the consequences of Russian shelling.

Steps towards harmonization with European standards, such as increasing export capacity and switching to a new voltage, demonstrate the rapid development of the Ukrainian energy sector and the improvement of citizens' quality of life.
