Ukraine won its first gold medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival

According to glavcom.ua: Ukraine won its first gold medal at the XVIII Summer European Youth Olympic Festival. Swimmer Makhar Yakhno won the 1500 meters freestyle competition with a result of 15:45.60, ahead of the silver medalist from Israel by 5 seconds. The Ukrainian team already has three medals after the first two days of competitions in Skopje.
It is also worth noting that at the World Summer Universiade, taekwondo athlete Maksym Manenko won a gold medal in the under 58 kg category, while Kyrylo Hurnov won a bronze in the under 80 kg category. Ukrainian athletes have already won seven awards in various categories at these competitions.
