Ukrainians are set to increase the minimum wage by 899 UAH: new amounts in the 2027 budget

In Ukraine, starting from January 1, 2027, the minimum wage is planned to be increased from 8647 to 9546 UAH. The increase will amount to 899 UAH, or 10.4%. Such figures are included in the draft state budget for the next year, which has already been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada. Earlier, the government published an forecast for the minimum wage until 2029. This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

What will the minimum wage be starting January 1, 2027

The draft state budget provides for an increase of the minimum wage to 9546 UAH per month. In 2026, this figure stands at 8647 UAH, meaning the minimum wage is set to increase by 899 UAH over the year.

Currently, this is only about the budget draft, not the officially approved figure. Bill No. 16000 was registered in the Verkhovna Rada on September 15 and is yet to be considered by the members of parliament.

The increase in the minimum wage affects not only workers' salaries. It impacts certain taxes, contributions, and other calculation indicators. For example, in 2026, the minimum wage of 8647 UAH determines the minimum income for reservations of workers in critical enterprises.

Along with the minimum wage, there are plans to increase the subsistence minimum in 2027. The total indicator is expected to rise to 3559 UAH, for able-bodied persons to 3691 UAH, and for persons who have lost their ability to work to 2878 UAH.

What will happen with the indexing of budget employees' salaries in 2027

A separate change concerns the indexing of salaries for budget sector employees. According to MP Olha Vasylevska-Smahliuk, the accumulated indexing figure as of December 2026 is planned to be reset in January.

This means that the count for the new indexing will start anew. The right to the corresponding supplement will arise only after the accumulated inflation exceeds the legally established threshold.

The draft state budget for 2027 anticipates significantly higher state expenditures. The Ministry of Finance estimates them at 7.272 trillion UAH, which is 13.5% more than the 2026 revised plan. For defense and security, 4.885 trillion UAH is allocated.

Final social standards for 2027 will be known after the bill passes through the Verkhovna Rada and the law is signed.
