Ukrainians at 25 and 45 years old urgently need to update their passport photos: fine up to 51 hryvnias
As soon as Ukrainians reach the age of 25 or 45, they need to remember to update their passport-photo within a month. If this is not done, the document loses its validity, which may lead to a fine of up to 51 hryvnias, according to the State Migration Service.
Although the passport-book is valid indefinitely, citizens are not required to switch to ID-cards. However, in case of delay in updating the photo, the old document will need to be exchanged for a passport in the form of an ID-card.
Experts from the State Migration Service explain that for late updating of photos in the 1994 passport model, a warning may be issued. If this violation is repeated within a year, a fine of 17 to 51 hryvnias can be expected in accordance with the legislation on administrative offenses.
It should also be noted that the ID-card has a limited validity period, and after reaching a certain age, it requires replacement. Currently, the document is issued for 4 years when obtained at the age of 14, and after 18 years - for 10 years.
Updating the photo in the passport is an important procedure for Ukrainians after reaching a certain age, and the issuance of new ID-cards imposes new requirements on the validity period. It is worth remembering these rules to avoid possible fines and ensure proper documentation.
