Ukrainians in Poland clarified the procedure for confirming disability: what payments are available

Ukrainians were informed on how to obtain disability in Poland and what benefits can be received. According to information from Spіlno Wspólnie, documents about disability issued in Ukraine are not valid in the Polish system.

However, as legal residents of Poland, Ukrainians can obtain an official disability certificate if they meet the criteria applicable to Polish citizens. This will provide access to various types of support, including financial assistance and other forms of support.

To obtain a disability certificate, it is necessary to gather all medical documents:

• Current Polish medical documentation: medical history, discharge summaries, examinations, medical conclusions.
• Ukrainian documents may also be useful, but they need to be translated by a sworn translator.

After collecting the documents, contact your doctor and submit them for disability assessment. After that, you will receive a letter with the date of the medical commission, where an examination and communication will take place. Regarding payments, one of the main ones is zasiłek pielęgnacyjny (215.84 zlotys per month) and Świadczenie pielęgnacyjne (3287 zlotys per month) for caregivers of minor children.
