Deadline Approaches for Digitizing Paper Employment Records in Ukraine
Ukraine’s Push to Digitize Work History Documents
According to Пенсії (RSS): Employers and employees in Ukraine have until June 10, 2024, to upload paper-based employment records through the Pension Fund of Ukraine’s online services portal. After that date, the option to digitize will remain available, ensuring electronic copies of work histories can still be created and used going forward.
It is important to note that physical employment books are no longer required for personnel management. However, past entries documenting work activity remain legally valid and will continue to factor into pension calculations. This is a key point for those nearing retirement, as the data from paper documents retains its official standing.
Oleksandr Maletskyi, Deputy Chairman of the Pension Fund of Ukraine’s board for digital development, digital transformation, and digitalization, emphasizes the importance of transitioning to electronic documents, which will simplify the management of employment records.
Benefits of Digitizing Employment Records
Moving work histories online helps cut through bureaucratic red tape and boosts the efficiency of HR record-keeping. This initiative is part of a broader trend toward digitizing government services, which can give citizens easier access to their own employment data. Adopting electronic documents aligns with modern labor market demands and offers greater convenience for users in the long run.
