The National Bank of Ukraine announces a coin collection for animal aid: how to participate in the campaign
The National Bank of Ukraine has announced the launch of the #PowerCoins campaign to collect coins of various denominations to help animals affected by hostilities. The campaign will run until November 28, 2025. This initiative is jointly organized by the NBU and UAnimals.
Ukrainians are encouraged to donate coins of 10 and 50 kopecks, as well as currency of 1, 2, 5, and 10 hryvnias. The collected funds will be used to purchase food for animals, provide medical assistance to injured and sick animals, and to equip enclosures in shelters.
The NBU explained: 'This campaign is an opportunity for citizens to contribute to charity, where every coin can save the lives of homeless animals affected by the war.'
Coins can be donated at the branches of Oschadbank and PUMB. A complete list of collection points is available via a special link.
Directions for using the funds
- Purchase of food for evacuated animals from combat zones
- Medical treatment for injured and sick animals
- Funding for veterinary services, surgeries, medications
- Equipping enclosures and purchasing equipment for shelters
Until November 28, 2025, the National Bank of Ukraine together with UAnimals will conduct the #PowerCoins campaign, during which Ukrainians can support animals affected by hostilities by donating coins of specified denominations. The funds obtained will be used to purchase food, provide medical assistance, and improve conditions in shelters.
