Ukrainian takes the lead on digital tech and AI task force in European sports

According to НОК: A meeting of the European Olympic Committees’ (EOC) Digital, Technology & AI Commission took place in Madrid on April 20–21. During the session, a new task force was established to develop innovative digital tools aimed at improving collaboration among Europe’s National Olympic Committees (NOCs). Ukrainian NOC member Olga Danko, who also serves on the EOC Digital, Technology & AI Commission, was appointed to lead the group. She presented a consolidated vision for advancing digital tools and artificial intelligence, which will serve as the foundation for the team’s future work.
Objective of the initiative
The task force includes representatives from the National Olympic Committees of Germany and Denmark. The initiative is designed to enhance interaction and knowledge exchange among European NOCs, which could in turn boost sports infrastructure and accelerate the adoption of cutting-edge technologies across the sporting sector.
The Madrid meeting marked a significant step toward embedding digital solutions into the sports landscape, addressing modern demands and challenges. The strong interest shown by delegates from various countries underscores the importance of this effort for the future of the Olympic movement in Europe.
