Humanitarian Mission in Oleshky

According to Рубрика — Суспільство: On October 30, 2026, a Ukrainian delegation carried out a critical humanitarian operation in Oleshky, a city under temporary occupation in the Kherson region. The mission involved delivering essential humanitarian supplies and organizing the evacuation of local residents wishing to leave the occupied area and return to Ukraine. This evacuation was facilitated by a ceasefire lasting over 80 hours, ultimately reaching 87 hours, allowing safe passage through Russian and Belarusian territories.

Evacuation Details

To execute the mission, the Ukrainian team arrived in Oleshky with 25 buses capable of transporting 750 people. Special transportation was arranged for individuals with limited mobility, alongside nine ambulances to ensure medical support. Due to minefields and proximity to the frontline, the evacuation route avoided river crossings and instead passed through Russia and Belarus. From the Russian city of Anapa, evacuees were flown to Belarus, then transported by bus back into Ukraine.

Dmytro Lubinets stated,

“The humanitarian aid has been delivered. The convoys have split - I am heading to Ukraine.”

He also highlighted,

“The ceasefire has lasted 87 hours without any violations. I thank our Ukrainian Defense Forces for making this humanitarian mission possible.”

Lubinets emphasized that everyone who wanted to leave Oleshky had the opportunity: “Currently, those wishing to return to Ukraine were able to do so.”

This operation successfully completed route demining in Oleshky and ensured safe delivery of aid to those in need. The Ukrainian delegation effectively secured a safe exit for civilians seeking to escape the occupied zone.

Such humanitarian efforts play a vital role in protecting human rights and providing relief to civilians caught in conflict zones. This mission demonstrates Ukraine’s ongoing commitment to support affected populations through aid delivery and organized evacuations amid prolonged hostilities. Moreover, the successful completion of this operation sets a precedent for future humanitarian initiatives in similar challenging environments.

In addition to the successful evacuation efforts, the situation in Oleshky has seen significant humanitarian support, including the recent delivery of nearly 4 tons of essential supplies. This aid, transported by Ukrainian drones, demonstrates the ongoing commitment to assist those affected by the conflict. For more details on this crucial delivery, you can read about it here.
