Ukrainian Junior Team Shines at European Championships

According to Главком: Ukraine’s junior rhythmic gymnastics squad has claimed the vice-champion title at the European Championships, which kicked off in Varna, Bulgaria. The team delivered an impressive performance, scoring 100.550 points to secure second place on the podium.

The juniors were the first to compete in the qualification round, with their results counting toward the team standings. In the individual junior competition, Ukraine is represented by three gymnasts:

  • Sofia Krainska
  • Sofia Kulikova
  • Varvara Chubarova

Sofia Kulikova will compete in the hoop final, Varvara Chubarova in the ball final, and Sofia Krainska in the clubs and ribbon finals. The junior finals are scheduled for Thursday, May 28.

Additionally, the senior qualification round will begin on May 28. Ukraine’s representatives in this category are:

  • Taisiia Onofriichuk
  • Polina Karika
  • Reserve: Anastasiia Ikan

Notably, Bulgaria denied a visa to a propagandist who sought to attend the European Gymnastics Championships.

This achievement by the junior team marks a significant milestone for Ukrainian rhythmic gymnastics, highlighting the athletes’ high level of training and skill.
