В Україні збудували підземний тунель довжиною майже 6 кілометрів для евакуації та перевезень у Донецьку.

Military Evacuation Strategies in 2023

According to Рубрика — Суспільство: In Donetsk region, Ukrainian military engineers have constructed an underground tunnel stretching close to six kilometers. This concealed passage facilitates the secret movement of troops, equipment, ammunition supplies, and the evacuation of wounded soldiers. Connecting two populated areas, the tunnel enables discreet transit for personnel, motorcycles, and ATVs.

"Our engineering team’s latest accomplishment is an underground tunnel nearly six kilometers long, linking two settlements in Donetsk. This infrastructure significantly enhances the ability of various units to carry out combat missions effectively." Colonel Dmytro Pishko, Head of the Support Forces Department, Air Assault Forces Command, Ukrainian Armed Forces

During the winter of 2023, the 81st Separate Airmobile Slobozhanska Brigade employed the PTS-2 amphibious transporter to evacuate injured personnel. This vehicle reduced evacuation times by 30 to 40 minutes, a critical saving in medical emergencies. Throughout the winter, 86 evacuation trips were completed using the PTS-2.

"Thanks to the PTS-2 amphibious transporter, we gained 30 to 40 minutes, which is crucial for wounded soldiers." Colonel Dmytro Pishko

Following the 'Veles' operation in Kharkiv region, Ukrainian forces advanced underground for 15 kilometers and captured more than 30 Russian soldiers hiding inside a gas pipeline in Kupiansk district. These events highlight the success of innovative tactical and technical approaches introduced by Ukrainian troops to enhance operational effectiveness.

The continuous development of engineering solutions and adoption of new technologies for evacuating the wounded and relocating military units illustrate the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ commitment to evolving their tactics. The construction of subterranean tunnels alongside the use of amphibious transport underscores the critical importance of speed and safety during combat, factors that can decisively influence mission outcomes and save lives. These innovations also showcase the growing engineering expertise within Ukraine’s military, a vital advantage in ongoing and future engagements.

The advancements in military evacuation strategies are not limited to underground tunnels. For instance, Ukraine has also pioneered the use of heavy medical drones capable of performing evacuations without GPS. This innovative approach enhances the efficiency of medical responses in challenging conditions.
