Ukrainian sniper sets world record: 4000 meters accurate shot at occupiers
On Thursday, fighters of the sniper special unit 'Phantom' set a world record for the distance of an effective shot with a sniper rifle. According to Defense Express analysts, one of the fighters managed to hit two occupiers in the Pokrovsk direction from a distance of 4000 meters, reports 'Glavkom'.
The previous record also belonged to Ukrainian military personnel, when a fighter from the SBU unit easily eliminated an occupier from a distance of 3800 meters using the 'Ruler of the Horizon' rifle.
New record thanks to the 'Alligator' rifle
«With a lighter rifle, the recoil would be significantly more noticeable, even considering the muzzle brake and the recoil spring in the example», - emphasized Defense Express.
To establish the new world record, the 'Alligator' rifle manufactured by the Kharkiv enterprise 'HADO-Holding' was used. This magazine-fed rifle has a caliber of 14.5 mm, a barrel length of 1200 mm, and provides an initial bullet velocity ranging from 980 to 1000 m/s. The weight of the 'Alligator' is 25 kg.
It is noted that although a bullet from the rifle can theoretically travel up to 7 km, the real limitation is the dispersion of accuracy. Experts believe that to achieve an effective shot at a distance of 4 km, the sniper fired a series of shots.
Ukrainian snipers continue to confirm their high qualification and achievements in this challenging field of military skill. The new record was set thanks to the 'Alligator' rifle developed in Ukraine, reflecting the high technological level of Ukrainian arms manufacturers.
