According to Главком: A 28-year-old forensic medical nurse and thanatopractitioner, Oleh Karpa, shared insights into his morgue work, the nuances of his profession, and his achievements-including setting a global record for the most tattoos. He revealed that 80% of those seeking to learn thanatopractice have no prior experience in the field. Karpa emphasized that the vast majority of newcomers to this profession are women, and he noted that many practicing thanatopractitioners in Ukraine are also female.

A planned offline thanatopractice course was canceled due to misunderstandings with partners. Karpa, who handles cases involving military personnel, children, and decomposed bodies, does not work directly with the families of the deceased.

“There are no restrictions. I just don’t work with relatives-like everyone else in this field. Regarding soldiers and children, unfortunately, I must work with everyone and understand that I do a specific but necessary job,” he stated.

Karpa also broke a world record, surpassing the feat of the legendary Zombie Boy. His body features 230 bone-themed tattoos that replicate human skeletal anatomy.

“This is technical work-a skill anyone can acquire. I believe such a person must have a strong character and know how to separate personal life from work,” he emphasized.
