Ukrposhta's New Parcel Locker

According to Главком: Ihor Smilianskyi, the Director General of Ukrposhta, has shared a photo of the company's new parcel locker, strategically placed near a branch of its competitor, Nova Poshta. This installation is part of a network rollout first announced in October 2025. The plan is to install 70 of these automated lockers in Kyiv and 30 in Odesa. Designed for autonomous operation, the lockers aim to provide greater convenience and accessibility for customers. This move highlights the increasing competition in Ukraine's logistics and delivery sector.

Parcel Retrieval and Project Funding

Customers will be able to retrieve parcels from the lockers using a PIN code or via the Ukrposhta 2.0 mobile app. However, despite the company's active plans, the government labeled Ukrposhta as a 'risk' in the draft 2026 budget. Smilianskyi has assured that the company is not at risk of default and disclosed his 2024 pre-tax income of 11.72 million UAH. This equated to an average monthly income of 970,000 UAH for him last year.

The installation of these lockers underscores Ukrposhta's strategy to modernize and expand its services, which could significantly improve service accessibility for the public. Despite the financial risks associated with the project, the company continues to implement innovations that could strengthen its position in the logistics market. This initiative also serves as a direct competitive response to other postal operators in a rapidly evolving industry.
