Поштовий сервіс України зібрав понад 500 мільйонів гривень на аукціонах: куди підуть ці кошти?

Ukrposhta’s Real Estate Sales Prove Highly Profitable

According to Главком: Ukrposhta, Ukraine’s national postal operator, generated more than UAH 500 million by selling off unused properties through eight auctions on the Prozorro.Sales platform. The transactions covered over 13,000 square meters of space, including former warehouses, sorting centers, and other buildings that had been sitting idle. The starting price for these lots was around UAH 110 million, but competitive bidding pushed the final total to over UAH 517 million.

Auction Outcomes and Key Highlights

The most striking result came from Lviv, where one property sold for UAH 462 million-more than eight times its initial price of UAH 56 million. In total, the company put roughly 20 assets up for sale. Maintaining these properties was costing Ukrposhta at least UAH 3.5 million annually in taxes alone. By disposing of these assets, the enterprise can now cut those recurring expenses and redirect resources.

Beyond real estate, the auctions also offloaded 716 outdated pieces of equipment from the Soviet and post-Soviet eras. The proceeds from all sales will be channeled into upgrading logistics, expanding services, and boosting the overall efficiency of the national postal operator. Instead of pouring money into maintaining old vehicles and unused buildings, the company now has fresh capital and freed-up space to focus on modernization and better customer service.

This property sale marks a pivotal move for Ukrposhta, as it not only unlocks a significant financial windfall but also reduces the burden of maintaining unnecessary assets.

Shifting focus toward modernization and service improvement could enhance the quality of customer care, a critical factor for staying competitive in the market. The decision to sell off aging assets also reflects the company’s commitment to more efficient resource management amid today’s challenges.

As Ukrposhta pivots towards modernization, it is important to note that these changes will also lead to adjustments in service pricing. Starting in April 2026, the postal service will implement new parcel rates, reflecting the ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency. Understanding these upcoming changes will help customers prepare for the transition. For more details on the forthcoming adjustments, see our article on the upcoming parcel rate changes.
