New Dnipro–Kharkiv Train Service Launches June 19: Ukrainian Railways Expands Regional Routes
Regional Train Connects Dnipro and Kharkiv Starting June 19
According to УНІАН — Туризм: Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) will introduce a new direct regional train, route №854/853, between Dnipro and Kharkiv on June 19. The journey takes four hours, offering a convenient travel option for passengers moving between these two major administrative centers. Tickets are already on sale.
Train №854 departs Dnipro at 08:17 and arrives in Kharkiv at 12:29. The return service, train №853, leaves Kharkiv at 15:30 and reaches Dnipro at 19:41. Stops along the route include:
- Synelnykove-2
- Pavlohrad-1
- Lozova
- Zlatopil
- Merefa
- Kharkiv
We are strengthening connections between Ukraine’s regional hubs and reviving a key route in a refreshed format. Travelers can now use the new regional service №854/853 Dnipro–Kharkiv–Dnipro for trips in both directions.
Updated Summer Schedule Takes Effect June 29
Additionally, starting June 29, Ukrainian Railways will adopt an updated summer timetable. Ticket sales for this schedule opened on June 9. Highlights include a new daily Intercity train from Dnipro to Odesa launching June 28, and a daily high-speed Intercity train from Kyiv to Odesa starting June 27. Extra services to the Carpathian and Transcarpathian regions have also been added-specifically trains 213/214 and 251/252 Kyiv–Rakhiv, departing Kyiv on June 17, 19, and 21, and returning from Rakhiv on June 18, 20, and 22.
The new Dnipro–Kharkiv regional train is part of Ukrainian Railways’ broader strategy to upgrade the country’s transport network. It not only cuts travel time between key regional centers but also boosts economic ties across regions. The revamped summer schedule, featuring fresh routes and additional services, aims to meet passenger demand during the peak travel season.
As the new Dnipro–Kharkiv service enhances regional connectivity, travelers can look forward to even more options with the upcoming launch of additional routes. Starting June 28, Ukrainian Railways will introduce 12 new services and expedite existing trains, making travel across the country more efficient.
