According to УНІАН — Туризм: Ukrzaliznytsia will shift to a revised summer schedule on June 28, bringing major changes to train operations. The railway operator has added 12 new routes, accelerated three trains, and extended four services into mountainous regions. Eight trains that previously ran every other day will now operate daily, aiming to improve rail accessibility for passengers.
Key Highlights of the Changes
Among the standout updates, the flagship train No. 1/2 'Yednist' (Unity) has been extended to Rakhiv. Starting June 29, it will run on the Kharkiv–Rakhiv route, becoming Ukraine's longest flagship train journey at 1,325 km. Additionally, train No. 55/56 (Kyiv–Rakhiv) will now run daily, easing travel to popular mountain resorts.
The 'Sakura' train, departing Kyiv at 23:28, will reach Uzhhorod faster in both directions, with the return trip arriving in Kyiv at 06:09. Train No. 113/114 (Kharkiv–Uzhhorod) will operate every other day, while train No. 45/46 (Kharkiv–Uzhhorod) shifts its route via Poddil. Routes No. 137/138 (Kyiv–Yasynia) and No. 142/141 (Chernihiv–Yasynia) have been extended to Yasynia station.
New trains joining the summer schedule include:
- Night express No. 83/84 from Dnipro to Mukachevo,
- Daytime train No. 153/154 from Dnipro to Odesa (on select dates),

Starting June 29, a new service, No. 229/230, will connect Kharkiv and Kremenchuk.
Commenting on these changes, Ukrzaliznytsia stated:
“We haven't gained more carriages, unfortunately, but we worked diligently over several months to optimize what we have as efficiently as possible-this made the new summer schedule possible.”
Notably, since April 25, Ukrzaliznytsia has implemented a new dynamic pricing system for train tickets.
The updated summer timetable aims to enhance passenger service quality and provide more convenient travel conditions across Ukraine.
These schedule adjustments reflect Ukrzaliznytsia's efforts to meet passenger needs, especially during summer when demand for trips to resort areas rises. Additional services and faster trains are expected to make journeys more comfortable and accessible, potentially boosting domestic tourism in Ukraine. Furthermore, the introduction of dynamic pricing could improve the company's financial performance by enabling more efficient use of resources.
As Ukrzaliznytsia implements these significant changes to enhance train services, it's also important to note the recent adjustments made to commuter train schedules. These modifications, aimed at improving accessibility and efficiency, reflect the ongoing efforts of the railway operator to meet passenger needs.
