Ukrainian Railways Launches a New Train to a Popular Seaside Destination
Additional Train Route: Odesa to Karolino-Buhaz
According to Главком: Starting June 28, Ukrainian Railways will introduce an extra regional train connecting Odesa and Karolino-Buhaz. This service will run on even-numbered dates, using a modernized electric train equipped with air conditioning. The journey time is set at one hour.
The train departs Odesa at 09:17, arriving in Karolino-Buhaz at 10:18. For the return trip, it leaves Karolino-Buhaz at 10:40 and reaches Odesa at 11:46.
“The schedule is designed to align with the arrival of long-distance morning trains from abroad, Dnipro, Lviv, Kyiv, Kryvyi Rih, Rakhiv, and Chernivtsi.” - Ukrainian Railways Press Office
Updated Summer Train Schedule
An updated summer train schedule will also take effect on June 28. Ticket sales for new and modified routes have already begun. Daily ticket inquiries reach 340,000, while actual passenger transport stands at 80,000. The ratio of demand to available seats is expected to rise from four to six or seven applicants per seat.
This additional Odesa-Karolino-Buhaz train is part of Ukrainian Railways' strategy to improve transportation accessibility for passengers, especially during the summer season. Amid the recent surge in train demand, the new route could help reduce ticket queues and enhance travel comfort. The updated summer schedule further reflects the company's adaptation to the growing needs of travelers during the holiday period.
As Ukrainian Railways continues to enhance its regional connectivity, the introduction of the new train service between Odesa and Karolino-Buhaz is just one part of a broader initiative. This summer, travelers can also benefit from a newly launched service connecting Dnipro and Kharkiv, which started on June 19.
