According to Главком: To celebrate the 27th anniversary of the Batkivshchyna parliamentary faction, party leader Yulia Tymoshenko posted archival photos on Facebook. In these images, she appears with dark hair styled into a braid. One of the pictures was taken on September 17, 2002, during protests in Kyiv under the slogan 'Rise Up, Ukraine!'
In her post, Tymoshenko reflected on the faction's journey through numerous trials and achievements over the years. She emphasized the party's significance, stating:
'27 years of the Batkivshchyna party. We have seen a lot, worked a lot, fought a lot, and accomplished a lot. I would define Batkivshchyna as the party of the unconquered and of genuine people. Always with Ukraine in our hearts. Being us is not easy, being us is hard, but being us is a matter of pride! Honor and dignity.' - Yulia Tymoshenko
Modern Challenges and Traditional Values
Recently, Tymoshenko also appeared in the Verkhovna Rada plenary session with an unusual hairstyle-a bun-and was spotted at the Spring Concert in Vyshhorod with her hair loose and wavy. She stressed that despite contemporary challenges, the concept of old ideological parties is not outdated, because 'someone has to take on the work of protecting Ukraine's state interests.'
These archival materials and Tymoshenko's remarks highlight her perspective on the importance of political activity in Ukraine, especially during difficult times. With a long history, the Batkivshchyna party remains a key player on the country's political stage, focusing on traditional values and the challenges Ukraine faces today. As she marks the anniversary, Tymoshenko underscores the need for political stability and active engagement in defending national interests.
