Timoshenko's Allegations Regarding the Audio Recording

According to Главком: During an appeal hearing, Yulia Timoshenko asserted that an audio recording provided by Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) has been falsified. The leader of the 'Batkivshchyna' party cited a 2025 analysis by the digital media platform PrismVote Analytics, which reportedly found traces of post-processing and external manipulation in the audio file. She emphasized that 'the provided data contains strong indicators of external interference and post-processing,' adding that 'the audio track bears signs of post-production.'

Case Background

This development follows NABU and prosecutors from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) announcing on January 13 that they had documented illegal activity by the head of a parliamentary faction. Searches were conducted at the 'Batkivshchyna' party office on January 14. Timoshenko herself is a suspect in the NABU case, accused of offering financial incentives to lawmakers for their votes. The High Anti-Corruption Court set bail for Timoshenko at 33 million hryvnias.

Timoshenko has further claimed that the investigators 'are acting under orders' and has highlighted numerous procedural violations in the case. These statements reinforce her position that the investigation is biased and politically motivated.

This case is unfolding within Ukraine's complex political landscape, where anti-corruption efforts are frequently entangled with partisan disputes. Timoshenko's allegations of evidence tampering, if substantiated, could significantly impact public trust in the nation's anti-corruption institutions. The situation underscores the critical need for impartial forensic analysis in investigations that carry major political implications.
