UNESCO increases support for Ukraine: 20 projects for cultural recovery
Acting Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications Tetiana Berezhna and Deputy Minister Anastasiia Bondar held a meeting with the head of the UNESCO Office in Ukraine Chiara De Cesari Bardeschi.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to synchronizing UNESCO's activities with the key documents of the Ministry of Culture, in particular - the Strategy for the Development of Culture in Ukraine until 2030 and the Operational Plan for its implementation for 2025-2027.
Tetiana Berezhna expressed gratitude to UNESCO for its systematic support and emphasized: 'Our goal is to make joint cultural projects visible and adhere to the overall direction of the Government to promote Ukrainian culture and creative industries.'
The head of the UNESCO Office noted that the Organization continues to provide support to Ukraine in two main areas: emergency repairs of cultural objects and long-term measures, including the development of professionals' potential and providing psychological support.
Support for cultural initiatives
The Cultural Hub officially opened in Lviv has received financial support from the Government of Spain through the mediation of UNESCO. This project aims to support cultural resilience, exchange experiences, and collaborate in the field of culture and cultural heritage preservation.
Currently, UNESCO is implementing over 20 projects in partnership with Ukrainian institutions aimed at countering disinformation, developing media literacy, digitizing the cultural sector, and preserving cultural heritage.
During the meeting, it was proposed to synchronize UNESCO's activities with the key strategic documents of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine and to emphasize joint cultural projects. It was also emphasized that the Organization's existing support for Ukraine and various events aimed at developing cultural sectors.
