According to glavcom.ua: At night, reflecting a massive aerial attack from the Russian Federation, pilot of the 1st class, Colonel Maxim Ustimenko, died on the F-16 aircraft. This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief, referring to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
«Unfortunately, we have yet another painful loss. Last night, while reflecting the massive aerial attack of the enemy, the pilot of the 1st class, Colonel Maxim Ustimenko, born in 1993, died on the F-16 aircraft. The pilot used the entire arsenal of onboard weapons, shooting down seven aerial targets. During the execution of the last one – his aircraft was damaged and began to lose altitude», – the message says.
The Air Forces added: «Maxim Ustimenko did everything possible, diverted the aircraft from the populated area, but did not have time to eject... He died like a Hero! Our sincere condolences to Maxim's family... Eternal flight, brother, you did everything you could!».
Massive missile-drone strike from the Russian Federation
It is noted that on the night of June 29, Russian occupiers once again launched a massive missile-drone strike on Ukraine using various types of missiles and strike UAVs. In total – more than 500 aerial targets.
According to the Air Forces, all available means of the Defense Forces capable of working against the enemy's aerial attack have been engaged to repel the massive attack. Once again, the aviation of the Air Forces worked productively, particularly the F-16 aircraft, whose pilots destroyed dozens of «Shaheds».
Ukrainian pilot Colonel Maxim Ustimenko died while repelling a massive aerial attack from the Russian Federation on the F-16. His deed was recognized for courage and heroism in the face of death. The Ukrainian Air Forces actively worked to repel the attack, destroying dozens of enemy targets.
