According to glavcom.ua: Representatives of the UOC MP plan to challenge the decision of the State Service in court, denying the church's ties to Russia. Religious scholar Alexander Brodetsky explained that the church will use both legal arguments and political-legal logic. He also reminded about the letter from Alexy II, which may become a key element in future court proceedings.
After the affiliation of the UOC MP with the ROC was revealed, the archbishops of the church appealed to the President of Ukraine. This led to citizenship issues for Metropolitan Onufriy, who lost his Ukrainian passport and now finds himself in complex legal situations.
