The government simplified the confirmation of work experience: thousands of Ukrainians will receive a higher pension

Pensioner with documents and papers
Тисячі українців отримають можливість підвищити свої пенсійні виплати завдяки спрощеним процедуром підтвердження трудового стажу.

Thousands of Ukrainian pensioners have the opportunity to increase their pension payments thanks to a new resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers. This resolution simplifies the process of confirming work experience acquired in the past, making pension payments more accessible for people with extensive work experience.

The problem of confirming work experience

Pensioners who have honestly worked all their lives often face refusals in counting their experience, which ultimately leads to lower pension payments. The new resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers aims to eliminate this problem and protect citizens' rights to a decent pension.

Innovations of Resolution No. 562

  • Simplified procedure for periods before 1992. Now work abroad before 1992 will be counted towards experience if the pensioner does not receive a pension from another state.
  • Request through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In cases where a citizen cannot independently obtain documents from another country, the Pension Fund can initiate an official request through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • Retrospective review. The Fund is obliged to review all decisions regarding refusals to count experience from previous years to address this issue.

Example of successful pension increase

An example of a woman whose 8 years of experience were not counted by the Pension Fund shows how the intervention of lawyers allowed her to increase her pension by 15%. This is made possible by the new rules.

What to do in case of refusal?

Even in difficult situations, there is a possibility to protect one’s rights in court, as lawyers advise. People have the right to expect pension payments that correspond to their actual work experience.

Ukrainian pensioners have the opportunity to increase their pension payments due to a new resolution that simplifies the process of confirming work experience.
