New Funding Boost for the eRecovery Program

According to Кулеба: Ukraine’s government has injected another 2 billion hryvnias into the eRecovery initiative, sourced from the fund set up to address the consequences of armed aggression. This fresh allocation will compensate 20,000 households for destroyed homes. Of this sum, 1.3 billion hryvnias is designated for urgent repairs, while 0.7 billion hryvnias is earmarked for more complex restoration work. The program continues to expand as the country grapples with widespread residential damage.

As of now, over 3 million homes across Ukraine have been damaged, representing roughly 14% of the nation’s total housing stock. To date, 139,000 families have already received payouts totaling 13.5 billion hryvnias, with more than 212,000 applications for compensation submitted.

Payment Amounts and Funding Priorities

The average payout for basic repairs hovers around 70,000 hryvnias, while more extensive work commands over 340,000 hryvnias per household.

  • 1.3 billion hryvnias for fast-track repairs, capped at 200,000 hryvnias per property;
  • 0.7 billion hryvnias for major restoration, with limits of 350,000 hryvnias for apartments and 500,000 hryvnias for private houses.

These measures are designed to assist civilians impacted by the armed conflict and to rebuild damaged infrastructure.

This latest funding underscores the Ukrainian government’s commitment to restoring the country’s housing stock, which has suffered extensively due to armed aggression. The eRecovery program stands as a key pillar of social policy, aimed at supporting affected families and restoring normal living conditions. Given the scale of destruction, this initiative could prove critical for millions of Ukrainians urgently needing help to rebuild their homes.
