Government Launches Low-Interest Business Loans and Easier Access to State Assets to Ensure Continuous Operations
Ukraine's Government Steps Up Support for Businesses
According to Рубрика — Суспільство: Following directives from the President, the Ukrainian government is implementing measures aimed at guaranteeing uninterrupted access to essential goods such as food and medicine for its citizens. Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky announced a new program offering low-interest loans to businesses, alongside simplified procedures for entrepreneurs to lease state-owned assets. These initiatives, discussed at an extended meeting involving business representatives and government officials, also include safety protocols during air raid alerts.
Key Initiatives
- A preferential loan program is being prepared, providing up to UAH 1 billion per individual company or consortium, with the government covering 5% of the market interest rate. The funds can be used for purchasing goods.
- Access to state assets will be streamlined, granting priority lease rights to entrepreneurs for property managed by the State Property Fund that is put up for auction.
- To maintain business operations during air raid sirens, differentiated alert recommendations have been adopted to prevent disruptions in supply chains.
Prime Minister Koretsky emphasized the urgency of proactive measures:
"We must respond and act ahead of challenges."
He warned that
"if businesses stop every time an alarm sounds, we risk losing jobs, tax revenue, and the country's capacity to provide for its people."
The government is also allowing a three-month period for companies to establish shelters and secure spaces at service locations, ensuring safety remains a priority.
Concluding his remarks, Koretsky expressed gratitude towards the business community:
"Thank you to all entrepreneurs and teams who continue to operate in Ukraine, pay taxes, salaries, and keep the economy running."
These government measures are designed to bolster businesses amid the ongoing security challenges facing the country. By offering affordable financing and easier access to public assets, the initiatives aim to stimulate economic activity and help enterprises adjust to the evolving environment. This approach is a crucial step toward maintaining economic stability and supporting the population during difficult times.
As businesses adapt to the government's new support initiatives, it's worth noting that in a recent week alone, enterprises successfully secured over 1.24 billion UAH in loans through the 5-7-9 program. This influx of funding highlights the effectiveness of these financial measures in bolstering economic stability and ensuring ongoing operations amid challenging circumstances.
