According to Міністерство соц. політики: The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has officially adopted a national action plan to implement the European Child Guarantee in Ukraine, with measures set to continue through 2030. This initiative is a key part of Ukraine's broader integration with European social policy frameworks. The plan's core objective is to guarantee children at risk of poverty access to essential services including education, healthcare, social support, nutrition, and adequate housing.
The strategy involves systemic reforms across several key areas impacting child well-being. Government actions will be carried out according to the plan's established roadmap, focusing on several primary areas of work:
- Strengthening targeted support for families with children,
- Developing social and educational services within local communities,
- Improving coordination between government bodies and international partners.
Additional measures include developing foster care families, expanding the network of Barnahus child protection centers, running information campaigns to combat bullying and violence, and promoting rules for cyber hygiene and responsible parenting. These steps are designed to foster a safer and more supportive environment for children across Ukraine.
The approval of this plan marks a significant step toward improving living conditions for children facing difficult circumstances. Successful implementation could substantially reduce child poverty rates and enhance social protections for the young. This move also underscores Ukraine's commitment to aligning with European standards in the realm of children's rights and social welfare.
