UNHCR will pay 10800 UAH: who among Ukrainians can receive assistance
Material Support Program by UNHCR
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has launched a material support program for the most vulnerable categories of Ukrainians. The total amount of aid will be 10800 UAH over a three-month period, equivalent to 3600 UAH per month. This program aims to help internally displaced persons who need financial support during difficult times.
Internally displaced persons who have received status within the last six months are eligible for financial support. Importantly, the family applying for assistance must not have received financial support from UNHCR or other humanitarian organizations in the previous three months. Additionally, the average income per family member must be less than 6300 UAH per month.
Conditions and Documents for Receiving Payments
To apply for the payment, Ukrainians need to provide a number of documents, including:
- passport;
- identification code;
- certificate of internally displaced person status;
- bank account details.
Applications for financial support are accepted at registration points in twelve regions of Ukraine.
The support program covers three main categories of recipients:
- single-parent families consisting of one parent, a minor child, and a person over 55 years old;
- families with elderly people or an elderly person along with a child;
- families with members who have special needs.
This initiative is an important component of supporting the most vulnerable segments of the population in Ukraine amid economic instability.
The introduction of the material support program by UNHCR indicates the growing attention of international humanitarian organizations to the needs of internally displaced persons in Ukraine.
In the context of war and economic crisis, such assistance can be crucial for many families facing difficult life circumstances. It is expected that the program will significantly improve the living conditions of vulnerable populations by providing them with the necessary resources for survival and adaptation to new living conditions.
