Fight on the mat: wrestling tournament in Crimea interrupted due to mass brawl
According to glavcom.ua: Participants and spectators of the wrestling tournaments in the annexed Crimea witnessed a mass brawl. The clash arose between wrestlers from Crimea and the Stavropol region of Russia over a verbal argument. One of the wrestlers provoked the fight right on the mat, which other participants of the tournament joined. The competition was stopped for an hour and a half.
With police intervention, the fight was managed to be stopped. After the disqualification of the participants, the tournament was resumed.
During Putin's address to the Federal Assembly, the Russian skater Alexandra Saitova, recognized as a neutral athlete by the International Skating Union (ISU), was present. Another supporter of Putin, Russian skier Veronika Stepanova, posted on Instagram a photo of Saitova's participation in a propaganda event. Allies of Putin and Russian servicemen were also present at the event, which violates the IOC recommendations regarding neutral athletes.
