Bukovina: over 2 thousand cases of domestic violence since the beginning of the year
An information campaign '16 Days Against Violence' has started in Chernivtsi. Members of the coalition 'Bukovina-1325', which includes the Migration Service of Chernivtsi region, participated in a press briefing on the occasion of the All-Ukrainian action '16 Days Against Violence', which began on the Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25.
According to law enforcement officials, since the beginning of the year, the police have received 2 thousand reports from residents of Bukovina regarding cases of domestic violence, including 75 from minors. Over 1 thousand offenders have received urgent restraining orders, and 109 criminal proceedings have been initiated.
An action 'Let's Overcome Violence Together' was held in the Central Square of Chernivtsi, where participants received materials with contact information in case of domestic violence detection.
'A home is a place where peace and warmth should prevail, not violence. Let’s overcome this problem together,' emphasized a representative of the Migration Service.
