Fire on board a Ryanair plane in Mallorca: 18 people injured

At Palma Airport on the Spanish island of Mallorca, 18 people were injured due to a fire on board a Ryanair aircraft. Six of them were hospitalized. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing Majorca Daily Bulletin.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight when the Ryanair plane was preparing for takeoff. Emergency services arrived quickly at the scene, describing the fire as 'small'.

Although most passengers left the plane in an orderly manner, some, succumbing to panic, climbed onto the wings and jumped to the ground. Paramedics assisted a total of 18 individuals, however, the injuries of those hospitalized were minor.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown and is being investigated. We remind you that earlier a Delta Air Lines passenger Boeing 737 lost a wing fragment during flight, and there were also reports of possible sabotage of an Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner that crashed near Ahmedabad.
