A Ukrainian student has gone missing in Italy while interning at a resort
According to glavcom.ua: An incident occurred in Italy: 18-year-old Ukrainian Maria Bugayova has gone missing while interning at a tourist establishment in the Brindisi prefecture along with her classmates from the Bratislava University. According to Ansa, the owners of the establishment in the village of Meditura reported the girl's disappearance.
Maria was last seen on Friday when she headed towards the Torre Guaceto nature reserve. She did not return for the night, and her mobile phone and passport were found in her student room.
Her relatives of Ukrainian origin living in Ukraine have been informed about her disappearance and are in contact with diplomatic representatives for further search efforts. Rescue services, police, and civil protection volunteers, who are using drones and service dogs, are participating in the search.
Second case of disappearing Ukrainians
This week, a nine-year-old Ukrainian named Valeria was also missing in Germany. The girl did not attend her classes at the German school after she missed the bus for her trip to school. The police discovered this fact through video surveillance.
Maria's Ukrainian relatives are hoping for her discovery, and the joint efforts of security services and volunteers are supporting this search. For both cases of disappearing Ukrainians in Europe, search activities are being conducted aimed at the quickest possible investigation and discovery of missing persons.
