Negative consequences of spring frosts for gardeners
Previously, we reported that spring frosts have led to catastrophic consequences for Ukrainian gardeners and agronomists. This is reported by
"Glavkom"
citing an interview with Dmitry Ostapenko, director of Green Technology Ltd, for the EastFruit project.
It is noted that as a result of night frosts that lasted from April 7 to 13, about 90% of the peach harvest was destroyed, leading to millions in losses and questioning the economic feasibility of the season. During the coldest night, the temperature in the orchard reached -6.6°, which was fatal for the peach flowers that were in full bloom.
The weather forecast for August 1 promises favorable conditions without precipitation for Ukrainian gardeners, but with a decrease in temperature in most regions. Meanwhile, the negative consequences of spring frosts for gardening reflect serious losses and threaten the economic development of the industry.
