IT Education Opportunities for Veterans in Ukraine

According to Рубрика — Суспільство: Ukraine is home to over 2 million veterans, many of whom are actively seeking employment and new career paths. The IT sector offers flexible work schedules and remote job possibilities, making it an attractive option for veterans. Responding to this, EPAM Ukraine is introducing a free IT training program starting October 12, 2026, designed specifically for veterans. No prior experience in information technology is required to enroll.

Structure of the Training Program

The course is divided into two main phases. The initial phase, called 'IT Basics,' covers fundamental knowledge in computer science, programming, and mathematics. The second phase allows participants to specialize in areas such as:

  • Java
  • .NET
  • Automated Testing
  • Manual Testing
  • Cloud & DevOps
  • Front-End Development
  • Business Analysis

Classes will be held online three times per week, with a maximum group size of 80 participants. Hundreds have already completed the first phase, and dozens of graduates have successfully entered the job market as junior specialists. Top performers may receive job offers to join EPAM's team.

Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have established a Faculty of Digital Transformation aimed at training experts in digital and analytical solutions tailored for military units. This initiative supports veterans in transitioning to new professional environments and contributes to advancing digital technologies within the defense sector.

Together, EPAM's veteran-focused IT program and the Armed Forces’ digital transformation faculty create valuable pathways for veterans to integrate into Ukraine’s modern economy and society. These efforts highlight the increasing demand for skilled IT and digital professionals, which is essential for the country’s progress amid current challenges.

In addition to EPAM's training initiative, there are other valuable programs designed to empower veterans. One such opportunity is a free leadership program for veterans, which aims to equip participants with essential skills for effective leadership roles. This complements the IT training by providing a broader range of career development options for those transitioning to civilian life.
