Ukraine launches AI Factory: how the state will develop artificial intelligence by 2030

Ukraine has taken on artificial intelligence! The Ministry of Digital Transformation is creating the first state infrastructure for this area - AI Factory. The head of the department, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced this.

«Our goal is to become one of the top 3 countries in the world for the development and application of artificial intelligence by 2030. To achieve this, we need the appropriate infrastructure on which various AI services will be developed, such as computing clusters, data storage, etc.», - says the announcement.

Key state services with artificial intelligence, being developed by the WinWin AI Center of Excellence at the Ministry of Digital Transformation, will operate on AI Factory. The first user of this infrastructure will be the AI assistant in the service «Dii». In the future, this platform is planned to be used for an AI tutor in «Mriya», as well as for projects in the field of defense, science, and medicine.

Main components of AI Factory:

• A technological base with computing clusters (GPU), server rooms with water cooling, data storage.
• Software for training and deploying models, interfaces for data preparation, monitoring, and process automation.
• Integration with data registries, tools for data cleaning and annotation to improve model quality.
• Team support for training specialists who will create and implement AI products in the public sector and defense.

Mykhailo Fedorov previously announced the launch of an equivalent of the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in Ukraine, and now he has highlighted an important step in the development of artificial intelligence in the country.

Ukraine has not only embarked on the path of developing artificial intelligence but is also creating its own infrastructure that will help implement and develop AI services in the public sector and other areas. This step is strategically important for further innovative activities in Ukraine and will demonstrate our commitment to improving technologies in the future.
