The average salary for pension calculations in Ukraine has significantly increased

The Pension Fund of Ukraine has approved new indicators of the average salary used for pension calculations. In June 2026, the relevant indicator reached 28,169.69 UAH, which is almost 29% higher than at the beginning of the year, reports Dengi.ua.

How the salary for pension calculations changed in 2026

This concerns the average salary or income from which insurance contributions were paid. This indicator is used by the Pension Fund of Ukraine to calculate pensions in accordance with the law on mandatory state pension insurance.

Throughout the first half of the year, this indicator increased every month:

• January - 21,876.06 UAH;

• February - 22,455.11 UAH;

• March - 23,218.24 UAH;

• April - 25,001.55 UAH;

• May - 25,636.03 UAH;

• June - 28,169.69 UAH.

Thus, in just one month, from May to June, the calculated salary increased by more than 2,500 UAH.

The Pension Fund indicator increased by almost 29% over six months

Compared to January, the average salary included in pension calculations increased by 6,293.63 UAH, or by 28.8%. The lowest indicator for the first half of the year was recorded in January, while the highest was in June.

At the same time, this indicator should not be confused with the actual average salary of Ukrainians. It is calculated by the Pension Fund based on the incomes from which insurance contributions were paid and is applied specifically in pension calculations.
