Fire in Uzhhorod Hospital: One Patient Dies, 69 Evacuated

According to glavcom.ua: A terrible tragedy occurred in Uzhhorod hospital - a fire that resulted in the death of one patient, while 69 people were evacuated from the fifth floor. According to information from the State Emergency Service, it is known that a ward on the fifth floor caught fire, and a 74-year-old man, a hospital patient, was poisoned by combustion products. Unfortunately, the doctors could not help him.

“The fire in Uzhhorod City Hospital: the ward on the fifth floor caught fire - a 74-year-old patient died. The man was poisoned by combustion products and became unwell. Unfortunately, he could not be saved,” the message states.

Rescuers quickly arrived at the scene, and the hospital staff managed to lead all patients to a safe area. The police have initiated a criminal proceeding regarding the violation of fire safety regulations in the hospital that led to this tragic event. Investigations are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of this fire.

In light of this tragedy, it is worth noting that this is not the first case in a week when civilian infrastructure in Ukraine suffers from fire. This once again emphasizes the importance of adhering to all necessary safety requirements that can save lives and prevent tragedies.
