Shakhtar Fans Select Their Player of the Season
Dmytro Riznyk Earns Top Honors
According to Главком: Goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk has been voted the best player of FC Shakhtar for the 2025/26 season, according to a fan poll conducted by the club's press office. Riznyk secured 57% of the vote, backed by 4,211 supporters. His closest challengers were:
- Lassina Traoré - second place with 1,275 votes
- Pedrinho - third place with 623 votes
- Luca Meirelles - fourth place with 410 votes
- Kauan Elias - fifth place with 379 votes
A total of 7,345 fans participated in the voting process.
Excellence in the Ukrainian Premier League
Riznyk has also been officially recognized as the best goalkeeper in the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) for the 2025/26 season. Over the campaign, he played 24 league matches, keeping clean sheets in 16 of them. In European competitions, he featured in 16 games and recorded 7 shutouts, helping Shakhtar reach the semifinals of the UEFA Conference League.
In the UPL's end-of-season goalkeeper rankings, 19-year-old Nazar Domchak from Karpaty took second place. Third place went to Oleksiy Palamarchuk of LNZ, who set a season record by keeping 17 clean sheets. The top five also included Yevgen Volynets from Polissya and Ruslan Neshcheret from Dynamo Kyiv.
Under the management of Arda Turan, Shakhtar won the Ukrainian championship and secured direct entry into the group stage of the UEFA Champions League. The club also has the option to use Brentford's stadium as its home venue for the 2026/27 Champions League campaign.
Riznyk's recognition as both the club's best player and the UPL's top goalkeeper underscores his vital role in Shakhtar's achievements this season. His outstanding performances in domestic and European matches were key to the team's success.
