NAPC’s Risk Analysis Division Now Led by a 503rd Separate Marine Battalion Veteran

Serhii Nazarenko’s Return to Public Service

According to НАЗК: Ukraine’s National Agency on Corruption Prevention has published the story of Serhii Nazarenko, a former 503rd Separate Marine Battalion soldier who now runs the agency’s risk analysis division for the security and defense sector within the Integrity Policy Formation Directorate. He came back to public service out of a desire to improve the state from the inside. The move reflects a broader trend across Ukraine, where former military personnel are increasingly stepping into civilian governance roles.

NAPC points out that more and more veterans, both men and women, are choosing public service and becoming important members of its teams. At the same time, those still serving in the military are already anticipating their return to civilian life, which is expected to create new professional opportunities. In his interview, Nazarenko stresses that veterans should take an active part in transforming the country, saying:
