Explosion in Zhytomyr Region: power supply damaged, hundreds of houses left without electricity

According to glavcom.ua: Yesterday around 18:00, an explosion occurred near the village of Berezina in the Zhytomyr region, resulting in damage to three 10 kV power lines. This was reported by 'Glaikom' citing Zhytomyroblenergo.

As a result of the damage to the lines, 50 transformer substations 10/0.4 kV were disconnected, leading to a lack of electricity for 735 residential buildings.

Nine emergency response teams were working to eliminate the aftermath.

Consequences of the explosion near Zhytomyr

We remind you that on the evening of July 2, a powerful explosion was heard on the outskirts of Zhytomyr, resulting in fatalities, injuries, and destroyed buildings. According to preliminary data, two industrial facilities exploded. The incident occurred around 18:00 on the international highway Kyiv - Chop near the settlement of Berezina. The explosion caused massive destruction: houses were damaged, cars were affected, and multiple injuries were reported.

It is already known of 24 injured and two deceased, among whom are four children. The causes of the explosion are currently being investigated.

During the explosion in the Zhytomyr region, three 10 kV power lines were damaged, leading to the disconnection of electricity for 735 residential buildings. As a result of the incident, two people died, including four children, and 24 others were injured. The reasons for the explosion remain unknown, and the investigation continues.
