Ukraine has cleared 34 thousand hectares of land from mines: how this will affect farmers
Since the beginning of this year, demining specialists have already cleared 34,300 hectares of agricultural land from explosive hazards. Overall, from January to November, 43,000 hectares have been surveyed.
At the meeting of the National Mine Action Authority, chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, important decisions were made for further development of demining in Ukraine. In particular, government mine action operators will be prioritized for non-technical surveys of agricultural land.
The efforts of demining specialists have already allowed for a large area of land to be cleared of explosive hazards, which will positively affect the safety of residents and the development of the country's agriculture.
