In Vinnytsia, people bid farewell to the fallen hero Serhiy Zhuk: his story of bravery
According to glavcom.ua: Today in Vinnytsia, a farewell will take place for Serhiy Zhuk, known as Prol, who was a soldier in the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade. This hero was awarded the Golden Cross and the Order of 'For Courage' of the III degree.
Serhiy died on November 27 in the Kharkiv region while performing a combat mission. He was only 28 years old. He served as an infantryman on the hottest fronts.
"Serhiy never boasted about his participation in the war and the awards he received" - recalls the hero's mother, Iryna.
Serhiy received the Golden Cross early in the war when his fire support from a machine gun helped extract two companies of soldiers from encirclement near Bakhmut.
Serhiy was the only son in the family, born in 1997 in Vinnytsia. He studied and worked in the city, graduated from university, and earned a degree in radio engineering. In 2022, he married Viktoriia, who also became a defender of the country.
"My son dreamed of a peaceful life with his beloved, sought changes for the better for his land and people" - shares the mother.
The farewell ceremony will begin at 9:30 at 12 Batohzka Street (Requiem, Column Hall No. 2). The viewing will take place at the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral, and the burial will occur at the Glory Alley of the Sabaryv Cemetery.
