Electricity Restrictions in Ukraine

According to glavcom.ua: On Wednesday, December 17, there will be electricity restrictions in most regions of Ukraine. This was reported by the portal 'Glavkom' citing 'Ukrenergo'.

According to company representatives, planned electricity outages will be set for ordinary consumers by the hour. There will also be power limitations for industrial enterprises.

'The reason for the restrictions is the results of Russian missile and drone attacks on energy facilities', Ukrenergo reported.

Energy workers emphasize that the situation in the energy system remains dynamic and may change in case of emergency circumstances. Citizens are urged to adhere to the scheduled consumption when electricity returns according to the schedule. This will help reduce the load on the network and expedite restoration efforts.

It is reminded that active misinformation, initiated by Russia, is spreading on the Internet, as well as fake Ukrainian resources that manipulate information about electricity outages in Ukraine. The Center for Counteracting Disinformation warns citizens about manipulative and false theses. Hostile manipulations claim that the Ukrainian government 'unfairly distributes electricity', depriving the eastern regions of light, while the west of the country supposedly does not face outages. In addition, there are claims of alleged electricity exports to the EU, which, according to their statements, continue while Ukrainians remain without electricity.

An expert also explained why the electricity outage schedule could change several times a day.

Changes in electricity supply at Ukrainian energy facilities due to Russian missile and drone attacks have led to the introduction of electricity restrictions in most regions of the country. Citizens are urged to be more careful in consuming electricity and to adhere to the outage schedule to facilitate the quicker restoration of the power grid.
