The government has submitted a bill to the Rada on new contracts for military personnel: terms and payments

According to glavcom.ua: The Cabinet of Ministers has approved and sent a draft law on new contracts for military personnel to the Verkhovna Rada, which provides for changes in service conditions and an increase in payments. The project was developed by the Ministry of Defense at the request of the President of Ukraine.

New contracts will be available for soldiers, sergeants, and officers of various military units and can be concluded for a term of one to ten years. Contract participants can also expect a deferment from mobilization for 12 months after the end of the contract if they conclude it for 2-5 years. An annual financial bonus and additional rewards for participating in combat operations will be provided.

Expectations for New Contracts

'We expect the rapid adoption of the draft law by the people's deputies. We hope that the system of new contracts will be operational in the first quarter of 2026,' said Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.

The Ministry of Defense has begun preparing new contracts for military personnel at the request of the President of Ukraine, which provide for increased payments, bonuses, and an expanded social package. The 'Reserve+' program also takes into account deferments for individuals whose one parent has a disability of the first or second group.
