New campaign against domestic violence: how to get help in Ukraine
War, fatigue, stress, uncertainty, air and life alarms – all of this has become familiar for Ukrainians. But when there are problems all around you, and those closest to you begin to hurt, it seems that there is no way out.
But this is not the case. Today, on the day of the launch of the global action '16 days of activism against gender-based violence', a new national information campaign 'Break the Circle' is starting.
Support and help are important
This campaign is implemented by UNFPA Ukraine with the support of the Government of Canada and the efforts of the National Police of Ukraine. This year we are talking about humanity and empathy – about those who can be close in difficult moments. About those who do not remain indifferent, but become support. Simple, but important words: 'I am here for you'.
Help to break the cycle of violence
This campaign reminds us that help can be diverse – from official services to just community support. But in each case, it requires sensitive and caring people. They are here to help break the cycle of domestic violence.
In difficult times, it is important for us to remember that support and empathy can help us get out of any difficult situation. It is important to be there and support each other, especially when it is most needed.
