National Record of Ukraine for Performing the 'Murph' CrossFit Complex

According to Рубрика: On August 22 in Lviv, military personnel, veterans, and representatives of the Defense and Security Forces set a National Record of Ukraine for the most numerous performance of the 'Murph' CrossFit complex. This event was initiated by Bohdan 'Voh' Tsymbal, who is the founder of the NGO 'Youth Union Bastion' and the commander of the Artillery Brigade Group of the 12th Brigade 'Azov'. The record was officially recorded by representatives of the National Register of Records of Ukraine, including the head of the register Lana Vetrova. The mass performance of 'Murph' became the first instance of its registration in Ukraine.

Description of the 'Murph' CrossFit Complex

The 'Murph' CrossFit complex includes:

  • 1.6 km run,
  • 100 pull-ups,
  • 200 push-ups,
  • 300 squats,
  • another 1.6 km run.

Participants performed the exercises in vests, emphasizing their endurance and physical training. The event took place in the square in front of the Lviv Opera House, where sports presentations and informational-entertainment activities from the 'Azov' unit and local partners were also held. There were memory and support locations for 'FreeAzov'.

Simultaneously with Lviv, servicemen performed the 'Murph' complex in the USA and in eastern Ukraine. The complex is named after US Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who died in 2005 in Afghanistan. An individual record for performing 'Murph' was previously set by a serviceman of the Air Assault Forces training center, Dmytro Kosaty.

It is really important to unite around the army and sport right now. Everyone here is the best! Thank you all for participating! Thank you, my friend 'Voh', for such great organization, for support, and for remembering the youth and veterans!

Andriy Zholob also noted that the record is not only a sports achievement but also an example for the younger generation: 'This record is, first of all, a struggle with oneself and one's capabilities. Today we can become an example of subculture for children and teenagers. Lviv is not only open to veteran sports-we are part of veteran sports. Thank you each of you for your struggle and example.'

Our experts came here to record a record that has never been achieved in Ukraine. And this is not just a sports achievement or numbers – it is a demonstration of your willpower, iron discipline, and brotherhood. This is what our state stands on today. You are a symbol of how iron people set iron records. Thank you for your service and for the daily protection of our state.
