Investigation completed in the case concerning commercial court judges

According to САП: The prosecutor of the SAP announced the completion of the pre-trial investigation in the case related to the extortion of funds from former heads of the commercial court and a judge of the appellate commercial court. They have been charged with receiving a bribe to influence judicial decisions.

In December 2024, the extortion of more than 1 million US dollars was discovered from a representative of a private company. These funds were planned to be used to make favorable decisions in two court cases in the appellate commercial court.

During the investigation, it became known that one of the judges of the appellate commercial court made a decision for a 'reward' of 75 thousand US dollars. This amount was given to the judge as a benefit for the judicial decision.

Currently, NABU detectives, with the permission of the SAP prosecutor, have transferred the case materials to the defense for review. According to the Constitution of Ukraine, the suspect is considered innocent until the court issues a guilty verdict.

After the completion of the pre-trial investigation in the case of the commercial court judges, the SAP prosecutor decided to transfer the case to court for consideration. It is expected that the participants in the process will have the opportunity to hear all the evidence and justify their positions before a legitimate court.
